Hey folks,

Goodie and I wanted to let you guys know about a few events that are happening on the farm this summer. (If you want to stay in the loop, subscribe to our newsletter! Link is at the bottom of the page). 

(1) Middle School Work Day: Sunday afternoon we welcomed the middle school youth group out for an afternoon of work, learning, and feasting. We had such a good time that we're planning another date for mid-July. Keep an eye out for updates!

(2) WHOLE HOG CHARCUTERIE INTENSIVE with Meredith Leigh, author of The Ethical Meat Handbook. August 20th-22nd. Join us as we break down one of our hogs with Meredith Leigh. Leigh is an author, butcher, and one of the most renowned experts on nose-to-tail butchery and charcuterie on the East Coast (check out her interview on NPR the other day!). In the workshop, you'll learn how to break down a whole hog with Meredith's guidance. We'll also learn (by making) hundreds of pounds of fresh sausage and cured meat (salami, mortadella, capicola, prosciutto, speck, lardo, pates and terrines, curing meats and veggies with koji...the list goes on). The event will culminate in a dinner featuring some of our collective culinary feats for participants and their loved ones. You'll also have the opportunity to take some charcuterie home! Price: $400 (requires a deposit of $100). 
Space is very limited, and once Meredith advertises on her website, spots will fill up fast. She's kindly letting me advertise first. Most courses at this level of expertise and hands-on experience are twice the price. And for those of you worried about the August heat: we'll be doing this indoors, in air conditioning :).
