I was using Wunderlinq together with various Android Apps since 2022 on a Samsung S20 FE without any problems on a 2017 GSA 1200 and since March 2024 on a 2023 GS 1250.

On my first multi day trip in May all of a sudden the Phone kept loosing the connection to Wunderlinq. It works for a while but then reproducible the phone won't reconnect after the connection was closed (either after a brake or after a engine stop/restart. Manually reconnection usually works but after the next engine stop & start (ignition remains on) it will not reconnect again.

Usually unpairing and repairing again works for a while (5-20 reconnects) but then it stops working again. In some cases even re pairing won't work, see bottom of the attached screenshot. It claims that pairing doesn't work because there is an app required (I assume the Wunderlinq app) even though the app is running. Clearing the apps' cache usually helps on this.

Clearing the phones Bluetooth cache helped but not any better than the usual unpairing/re-pairing procedure.

The smartphone runs on Android 13, patch level 1st of June 2024 but it went to at least 2 software updates which didn't change anything. Wunderlinq app version is currently 2.73, Firmware 2.1. The problems started in early May 2024.

Any ideas for help welcome.

Thanks
Armin

Hi Armin

We are currently seeing issues with Samsung S series devices with recent Samsung updates. We've opened a case with them. This is the third time since 2018 we've seen them break and then fix Bluetooth on their devices.

Thanks for your patience.

Thank you for the hint about Samsung devices, however I doubt that in my case Samsung is the one to blame.

I just deleted all data (Cache and data), uninstalled and re-installed the Wunderlinq app and re-paired with the device. Browsing through the menue, I found out that the device settings are not accessible. I can select it on the menue but then I only get to an empty page (see screenshot). Also, even after the new installation, once the connection to the device is lost, it will not auto-reconnect while manually connecting works fine. I have not seen this with any other BT device except the Wunderlinq.

FW Version is 2.3 while the Wunderlinq App claims that the Firmware is unknown.

Regards
Armin

I tryed using a non Samsung phone now:

OnePlus 5 running on plain Android (LineageOS 20/Android 13) is showing exactly the same issues. It works for a while and all of a sudden Wunderlinq won't reconnect after a break or engine stop/start. So for sure in my case Samsung cannot be blamed. Is there an option to factory reset or even repair the Wunderlinq?

Regards
Armin
