I know this is a a hitla feature, but I still think it's cool.
Basically, every emote has an associated sound.

The question now is, when does it play? Is it optional for TTS messages,
or for alerts? Or somewhere in-between?

not to harsh your mellow but i think that this is a bad idea. it would just annoy ppl way to much. and it just adds more bloat....

work on the things that need to be done like raffles/ polls.

fix the stuff thats broken before going to more complicated things.

how many emotes we got? 250+?

adding sound may be a little to much, and its not needed at all.

I actually like the idea and it should be eventually be implemented as part of TTS, but Nexus is right, we have many broken features that are needed. Polls, whispers, raffles, stickers, I also think we should uncuck the default rate limit and increase the insane rate limit, I think they both should be doubled. Also dispatch said he would be making an "blocked user" list be channel listing all the people who are channel blocked for everyone to see, he also said that the channel blocked messages would show up in global so other people can see them, he also said he would make an opt out for users so they could see channel blocked messages if they wanted to. There is a lot to do before we start working on Hitla features, if he really wants it he will pay dispatch to do it and it won't concern us. He promised these "channel blocking" features on the next update after he implemented the channel block, we've had several updates since then. My opinion is that we should catch up on what should already be done.

In terms of implementing, I completely agree that there's a lot of catching up to do. This was just something that I had on my list for a while.

Dispatch was supposed to send in the proposal for RFC 3 that describes all of chat; he sent in a broken version once.
Since he's _not_ part of the group here, I'll start a new topic for just chat that'll lead up into a proposal.

I take issue with calling something a Hitla feature (except perhaps the Hitla Index). I just wanted to jump in here and say I don't plan on paying Dispatch for this, and as time has gone by since the initial suggestion, I agree that this one can wait a bit longer. My understanding is that currently, Dispatch would like to make this less annoying by having it be a very low-tier monetized feature.
