The next sprint will begin on Oct 13th 2020.

The two topics to choose from are:

  1. Chat, chat users, and message moderation
  2. Announcements, news page, admin-to-user messaging, and other on-site information channels
Topic choice 1. is obviously more popular, and will likely involve Dispatch weighing in, perhaps
even collaborating. It will also involve a lot of nitty-gritty work, such as defining what chat is, or
what is a chat user.

Topic choice 2. is a long needed discussion. [bitwave.tv] has the infrastructure mostly, and can
resize to fit, for what is a basic thing. Discussion may possibly even involve reworking whispers,
notifications, and reports. It is also what is separating [bitwave.tv] from being fully independent
of external communication services.

I, personally, would rather see topic 1. get resolved sooner, since it seems easier to write (though
not necessarily to discuss/agree upon).

I'd like to see some way for users to feedback info in a more transparent way, my vote is on topic 2.

A in-site forum/discussion board could achieve these things outside of live chat, without requiring another sign-in or discord.

As far as channel mods go, a lot of appeal was in giving users power to troll streamers. Generally streamers with higher views won't want to deal with that, requiring a safe space. I suggest making Streamers pay a server-upkeep fee just to even use janny tools, with no extra weight in decisions. ie $5/mo for mod tools and 1-2 mods, and additionally $1/mo per channel mod. Allow user superchats to override streamer bans occasionally? Allow users to gift coins to each other via forum direct message/inbox.

Thanks

You cannot trade wavecoins because wavecoins are not a currency.

One thing I think can be included in topic 2 is discoverability of features, especially chat settings and all the new features enumerated in topic 1. I think that topic 2 has great potential for becoming a whole suite of improvements. I would be in favor of starting with topic 1 as that seems to serve a more immediate need. In addition, I think all the various ideas within the scope of topic 1 are much better understood by many.

I vote to start with Topic 1, it will be good practice for getting topic 2 wrong.

This makes Topic 1 win 3:1.
