Hello everyone!

I am excited to share the news about the upcoming USABO training camp.

The USABO Problem Solving Camp consists of 1 week of intensive training to prepare students for the USABO Open 2021 exam.

The USA Biology Olympiad is the premier biology competition in the USA. The competition begins in February with the Open Exam, which is open to every high school student. The top 600 students, based on the scores on the Open Exam, are invited to the Semifinals, and the top 20 students from the Semifinals are invited to the Finals. 

 

The goal of the Biolympiads USABO Problem Solving Camp is to prepare highly motivated students to compete in the USA Biology Olympiad. The students will learn how to solve questions efficiently and in the least amount of time. Guided by USABO Semifinalists and IBO medalists, the camp participants will gain invaluable critical thinking skills and learn test-taking strategies.  

During the camp, you will solve over past USABO questions with step-by-step guidelines taught by our tutors. We will show you the best ways to solve questions which require analytic thinking and problem solving. 

 

Duration: 1 week

Schedule: 2 hrs every day

Hi Eunji,

Yes, of course. Joining the Zoom meeting is not mandatory as you may have other commitments. The tutors will record all problem-solving sessions so you can watch them later at your convenience. Moreover, you can ask any questions in the Skype group during the training week at any time and the tutors will be available to help offline with any USABO questions. ;-)

We have more details about our USABO Problem Solving Camp. The best thing is that it is much cheaper now! 

The course will be delivered completely offline. So you can watch the material at any time and you don't need to join the class at a particular time. Students will be able to access the Schoology platform where they will find videos with step-by-step explanations of the most complicated biology olympiad questions. The Forum in Schoology will allow students to ask any questions from any past USABO papers and our experienced tutors will provide comprehensive explanations. The tutors will be available for the entire duration of the camp. 

The camp participants will be placed into the group "The Ubiquitinators" and will be able to exchange the best USABO test-taking strategies.

Dear all, 

Hope you are all well! We have some updates on the USABO problem-solving camp. 

The camp, as planned before, will be offline in the form of a video course. Each video will explain different strategies and tactics on how to answer USABO Open exam questions. Some questions will also be taken from the USABO Semifinal and IBO exams so it will be a lot to learn! 

In addition, we are preparing a few statistics videos which will help you gain some crucial skills for USABO exams. 

We still didn’t produce all the videos, so they will be added regularly starting from 28 December. ;-)

The course platform will be hosted by Teachable and this is how it looks like (it's still under construction, though):

​In addition to videos, students will be able to ask any questions about the past papers in the forum during the course week.
