to Microbiome Analysis

Hi all,

Please join us this week on Wednesday 31st July at 1pm for the next Microbiome Analysis Community Meeting.

At our last meeting  we heard from Professor Robert Edwards from Flinders University and Dr Robert Finn from EMBL-EBI's Microbiome Informatics Team. At this meeting we heard about the developments at EMBL-EBI along with access to national computational infrastructures, NCI and Pawsey and this led to an interesting conversation about the demand on resources and managing storage budgets. You can watch the video recording of that meeting here.

During Wednesday's meeting we will hear from:

  • Microbial life in the atmosphere - Dr Rachael Lappan, Monash University

  • Building a standardising microbiome analysis workflow with reporting - Dr Valentine Murigneux, Queensland Cyber Infrastructure Foundation

We'll hold a discussion on relevant platforms for microbiome analysis and in particular, two platforms: 1/ the MGnify platform and 2/ a proposed customised Microbiome Lab (similar to Genome Lab) in Galaxy Australia. We are requesting your responses to a short poll with further information about these resources herePlus there will be a chance for you to bring any other business or news to share.

Please join us on Wednesday, 31st July, 13:00 AEST! You can find the agenda here and the zoom link here.

Please share widely.

Regards,
Tiff
