Hi all,

Online data analysis for biologists provides an introduction to using Galaxy Australia and its available tools. The workshop is designed for Australian life science researchers and bioinformaticians, and pitched for people with no prior knowledge of Galaxy. If you have data to analyse or if you will be providing support to Galaxy user, you are encouraged to apply. No programming experience is required.

The workshop is free to join, but you must apply for a place subject to selection. For more information and to apply visit the BioCommons website.

Learning outcomes:
By the end of the workshop you should be able to:
  • Identify the key features of the Galaxy website: Tools, Histories and the Centre Panel
  • Upload data into Galaxy from your computer or a public website
  • Organise your data using tags
  • Select and run tools
  • Explore the results of your analysis
  • Create a workflow that can be used to repeat your analysis
  • Identify sources of support and further training
