Hello everyone,

The Australian Microbiome Initiative has a workshop coming up on analysis of microbial community metagenomic data. 

About the workshop
This three-day workshop introduces best practices and practical workflows for working with publicly available microbiome datasets, with a focus on reproducible, FAIR data-driven research.

You will learn about:
• Curating and reusing microbiome data using FAIR principles
• Exploring Australian Microbiome datasets and global open-access resources
• Analysing metagenomic data from raw reads through to metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs)
• Using the KBase platform for accessible, reproducible bioinformatics workflows

Dates and format
• Part 1 (Hybrid): Tuesday 25 August, 11:00–17:00 AEST (online or in-person, Brisbane/St Lucia)
• Part 2 (In-person only): Wednesday 26 – Thursday 27 August, 9:00–17:00 AEST (University of Queensland, St Lucia)

How to join
The workshop is free to attend, with limited in-person places available (20 participants). Participants are responsible for their own travel and accommodation.
