Hey San Jose Team!!
Last week, VTA’s Congestion Management Program and Planning Committee recommended that the Board approve nine local projects for $2.7 million in funding from the Transportation Fund for Clean Air. If both the VTA Board and the Bay Area Air Quality Management District approve the funding, this would mean new/improved bikeways, better traffic signal timing, and additional operational funding for VTA’s Rapid 500 and Valley Medical Center Shuttle service.
The recommended projects will come before the VTA Board at their next meeting on November 4. Following funding approval, projects will need to be completed within two years.
Details on the proposed projects can be found on the VTA's blog. I’ve also attached a photo of a completed Class IV bikeway project in San Jose similar to what has been proposed in this slate of projects.
