All,
Trail work! Stevens Creek Trail will be PARTIALLY closed starting Dec 15 - 23 with nighttime working hours of 9 PM to 5 AM. Only half the bridge will be closed at any given time. You will still be able to travel through but with half the trail width. See the attachment for details and graphics. Work includes the installation of screen mesh and protection screen panels along the bridge overcrossing. This is done in preparation for Caltrain electrification.
Also, please know that Mountain View Parks & Forestry is using a contractor to work along Stevens Creek between Central Expressway and Creekside Park. The contractor will do trimming and tree work to clean up the heavily wooded areas, open the corridor for public safety and reduce the potential fire hazards. This is the third year for the annual Stevens Creek Trail safety trimming. The trail system has become overgrown, creating unsafe areas along the trail. In addition, the Police Department has recommended this project to help with crime prevention. The work is primarily off the trail, but slowdowns are possible as crews maneuver through the area. The project is expected to last through December.
