Hi SVBC team leaders!
Please join us for the 2nd annual El Camino Bike Ride on Saturday, July 16. The Santa Clara and Sunnyvale teams are organizing this ride to raise awareness that there is strength in numbers and that full and complete protected bicycle lanes on El Camino Real are critical to creating a safe environment for all road users who utilize the road as a destination or passthrough. If you joined us last year, we had close to 50 participants and formed a bike bus taking over the right travel lane. Let's do it again!

Arrival window: 9:30am - 10am

Caltrain schedule: Northbound train arrives at 8:29am; Southbound arrives at 9:51am

Departure time: 10am

Starting point: Plaza del Sol in Sunnyvale (across the street from Caltrain Station)

Route: This will be roundtrip. We will go down El Camino, U-turn at San Tomas Expwy, then back to Plaza del Sol.

This ride is designed to be a social ride, but please remember there will be motor traffic on the street.

Please let your team members know about this event! We have invited council members and BPAC city staff from both Santa Clara and Sunnyvale. I encourage you to invite your council members and BPAC city staff as well, particularly for those cities along the El Camino.

Additionally, we are looking for ride support volunteers so please let us know if you would like to help.
