I’m currently bike touring in the Netherlands with my Pocket Rocket. If anyone on this page is in the Netherlands and is interested in possibly purchasing my Pocket Rocket before I pack it back into it’s travel case on April 29, contact me before 4/28 while I am in Rotterdam.
See below for the details of the upgrades I made to the original bike (I am the third owner). I am 5’6” tall, and this bike fits me well. It’s also very adjustable. Price would be €800, including the travel case and packing system from Bike Friday, but saves you the shipping from the US and any possible taxes.
From the original build sheet from BF, the main frame is 50. The mast/stem riser was updated to the newer version and is adjustable, I’m currently running a 70mm 6 degree rise stem on it. The bike was designed to fit riders between 5’2” to 5’7”.
Updated to the Drivetrain is a Shimano 105 triple crankset. It works well with the original 8spd Campagnolo RD. Campy shifter/brake levers, Updated Shimano DuraAce front brake caliper and original Tecktro rear brake caliper.
Updated HOPE ceramic bottom bracket to accommodate the Shimano crankset.
Original swan neck Stem riser was replaced with the newer version that allows a regular threadless stem to be installed. Ritchey Butano ergonomic drop bars at 42mm width.
Updated with a Suspension seatpost.
I will be taking the pedals with me, they came off my husband’s bike and he wants them back.
More photos of the bike are on the FB Bike Friday Community page.
