to Bike Friday Yak!

I have some Bike Friday parts, and a list of other bike stuff for your browsing pleasure! I've been working on a build project and finally bringing it to a close, now it's time to cut a few things loose. If anyone wants to make an offer on the whole pile, I might be able to fit it all in the Carlton case and ship it that way.

See it all here:

Bike Friday List:

Bike Friday Front Rack $100

This is the same rack BF has on their website.  Thought I might use it but went a different direction

Bike Friday Carlton Case $45

This is the original BF case, most of them still fit in it.  This one has seen some traveling but still is in good shape.

Bike Friday Kalloy folding stem. $75

One of the cool things about this stem is it had the BF made adapter for the 1 1/4 steerer tube. Using just that, you can try out any of the other aftermarket quill-style folding stems.

Wellgo QRDII Quick Release Pedals  $45

This is Wellgo’s version of a quick release pedal.  Actually lighter than MKS. Great for a commuter.

1 1/8 quill adjustable angle stem $10

This will go right in your regular 1 ¼ steerer if you want to try a different handlebar/stem setup.

22.2 25.4 threadless adapter height extender $10

If your current stem mast isn’t high enough, this will get it higher.

20” wheel Shimano Alfine 11 kit $500

This is a complete conversion kit that another Bike Friday brother used on his bike – Alfine 11 hub laced to a Sun CR18 32h rim, chain, chain tensioner, cog, shifter, cables, shimano and rohloff oil

This is an Alfine 11s IGH Conversion Kit (for rim-brake + chain drive)-came off a Bike Friday and I was going to use it on my bike but went a different direction.

Everything you need to convert your chain-drive Bike Friday, Tern, or Dahon or other 20" 406 rim bike to an internal gear hub (except front chainring). Just pop in, swap derailleur for tensioner and take off!

- Smooth-shifting Alfine 11 IGH Hub on Sun 406x12 32-spoke rim. w/ 1000miles and oil change before I took it off. Hand-built, used for 1yr before deciding to take a different approach to my folder setup. 11s gives wide range of gears, works for loaded touring.

-Alfine Chain Tensioner, my used-chain (1k miles), and rear 21t cog (can be swapped out)

- Rohloff oil change kit plus shimano SG-700 IGH oil. Never ended up using this kit since I had the shop change the oil immediately before I took the wheel off my Bike Friday

Softride Stem 135 1” quill steerer $30

Post Moderne Suspension Seatpost 25.4 $20

Schwalbe Marathon 20 x 1.50 $25 (1)

Nice super small and light hub generator intended for smaller wheeled bikes, but also used by higher speed rando types who want to save weight

Busch & Muller Avy Generator light 25

This new headlight replaces the Lumotec LYT. It has better optics, similar in design to the CYO and Eyc. It's smaller and less expensive than the Lumotec Lyt.  Good side illumination for added safety. 30 lux

Busch & Muller IQ-X generator light 100

As of 2020, this is the brightest dynamo powered bicycle headlight at 100 lux. The optical system produces a very smooth distribution of light on the road. The housing is anodized aluminum and acts as the heat sink for the LED.

Thanks,

David,

Assuming the shimano hub bearings are smooth, I'm interested in that 20" wheel with the rhyno lite rim.

In the photos, I see Big Apple 2.0 but on the list you have Big Ben.  I'm assuming those are the tires.
I also see two stainless blackburn bottle cages.

If you wanted to work a deal for all of that, I'd be up for it.

Thanks,
Eric

Those are Big Apples!  Not Big Bens. Thanks for the clarification!

The Blackburn Stainless Chicane cages are 15 for the pair.

We can work something out for all that.

I'll email you offlist.

I'd call it an adjustable angle  quill stem,   what you call a  Kalloy folding stem.
22.2 25.4   (a quill stem raiser   22,2 ID on the top to insert stem being raised ,
yes it functions as a threaded fork to threadless adapter height extender,

as a threadless fork  steerer, stem raiser , you'd still need to put a star nut in the top somehow,,,

For the IGH Alfine kit, is it a direct swap? I thought the rear triangle needs to be expanded to accommodate the broader alfine width

I just went out to the garage and measured it and it looks like it's 130. But that's me with a ruler. I've read that most of them are 135, and I'm sure that's true for the centerlock/disk ones.

Mine is not one of the centerlock equipped ones, which may explain why it is more narrow.

I got out the vernier calipers this morning and the hub is indeed 135 and it has the centerlock for discs.  I seem to remember reading somewhere that you can take off the centerlock section and get the overlocknut dimensions smaller.

Hi David

Would you be able to ship the Kalloy stem to the UK?

I have one the  Quill itself is a Brompton like 1" ..  so works with 1.125" threaded stems

I have one too,  had a steel substitute made that lacks the noises and flexing  .  of the folding mast.

how do you  manage ride your Bike  Friday without the 1.25 to 1" Reducer,  holding the fork together?
