FOR SALE. My husband and I are selling our Pocket Rocket Pro (451) bicycles. We are asking $ 1,200 for each one, plus actual cost of shipping. We are certainly willing to sell them separately.
Bike # 1 is red and built up for a 6 ft tall rider. The cranks are Shimano Ultegra 175.
Bike #2 is blue and built up for a 5’3” rider. The cranks are Shimano Ultegra 165.
We bought them in 2001 and took them on vacations to England, Italy and New Zealand. They were incredibly fun and smooth to ride on both flats and climbs. We even did a triathlon in England.
We didn’t tour with them. We usually had a car. Once they were out of the suitcase they quickly folded and fit perfectly in the trunk. We also used the soft carrying case to travel on trains. Although we rode them regularly on our vacations, the total mileage on them is still less than 1000 miles.
However, they have now been in their suitcases and haven’t been used in many years. They are wonderful bikes and need a good home so they can get back out on the road.
Both bikes have their original suitcase, which is a BF Carlton Travel Case, the original tools, a BF soft travel case, and the original design and paperwork.
Generally, both bikes were built up with Shimano Ultegra components. But upgrades included:
- Headsets with Chris King SB
- Shifters with Shimano Dura Ace
- BB bearings with Shimano Dura Ace
Both have rims that are Sun 14A(451) 24o/aero – 190 POUND LIMIT. And both have a Shimano Ultegra cassette of 11-23, 9sp.
Both bikes have some, but very minimal wear. They still ride very smooth! And they both look great! Both have some damage to the Pocket Rocket Pro decal where the attached strap is located.
The seats on both bikes are in good shape. However, pedals are not included. Although we do have old Look pedals, we could include if desired.
The tubes and tires are very old and will certainly need to be replaced. Although they held air for our test rides after we put them back together. The bikes rode so smooth, we almost decided to keep them.
We will be happy to send any further specs, pictures, or measurements of either bicycle on request.
