Girls softball defeated Homewood-Flossmoor last Friday 7-5.  Taylor Norkus earned the win allowing 12 hits and five runs over seven innings, striking out four and walking none.  Grace Wuest led with 2 hits in three at bats.  Maddy Grooms had three runs batted in.  Also adding to the offense were Lilliana Irwin and Makenzie Johnson, both with double base hits, and Carmela Irwin with a sacrifice fly.  On Saturday, the ladies won easily over Joliet West 18-0.  Taylor again earned the victory, surrendering zero hits and zero runs over three innings, striking out five and walking none.  The team collected 16 hits in the game from multiple players–Carmela and Lilliana Irwin, Makenzie Johnson, Makenna Albert, Mia Chavez, and Emma Henderson.  


On Friday, Varsity baseball defeated Chicago Christian in their season opener by a score of 4-2.  Chase Maher earned the pitching victory going 3 innings and striking out 5 batters.  Santino Imhof pitched 4 scoreless innings and struck out 6 batters in relief to earn a save.  Easton Lane led the offense with two hits and a solo home run in the fourth inning.  On Saturday, the Varsity team defeated Lisle by a score of 5-1.  Nicholas Fox earned the pitching victory striking out 5 batters, while Gavin Van Ness threw three scoreless innings striking out 8, and Easton Lane pitched a scoreless seventh inning.  Van Ness had two RBIs at the plate and Domenico Camilleri added a double and RBI.

ATTENTION STUDENTS, PARENTS & TEACHERS–

If you are entering the high school drive from Hodges Street in the morning, DO NOT drive around the car line for the elementary school drop off.  Wait your turn to enter the school drive!  There have been several “close calls” and the police will be issuing tickets to those in violation.
