Girls softball regional play began yesterday with Beecher defeating Herscher 8-2.  In the bottom of the 3rd inning, Makenzie Johnson tripled, scoring 3 runs to take the lead 3-2.  A 4th inning spurt scoring 5 runs gave the Bobcats some breathing room.  Mia Chavez doubled, scoring one run, Karsyn Kasput singled, scoring one run, Makenzie Johnson hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, and Elena Kvasnicka doubled, scoring two runs.  Makenna Albert also picked up 2 hits in 3 at bats.  Taylor Norkus earned the win, surrendering four hits and two runs over seven innings, striking out eight and walking two. 

Last night the girls soccer team defeated Coal City by a score of 2-0.  Grace Durante tallied 2 goals, earning the 200th goal of her career!  Ava Gaidar collected the assist on the second goal.  Mikenna Burdick  had 13 saves in the goal, helped out by the defensive efforts of Teagan Claus, Saoirse Loonom, Abby Corral, and Ruby Gomez.  Come out and support the girls on Friday at Manteno at 4:00pm as they take on Peotone for the regional championship. 

Students need to take care of any outstanding fees (lunch account, library fine/book, school fees) before finals begin or their last day of attendance.  Hall locks should be left on lockers and will be re-issued when school resumes in August.
