The boys and girls track and field teams competed at the Manteno Invitational on Friday, both earning 6th place finishes. The jumpers had an impressive day, led by Jadyn Stout, who took 1st in the high jump, Jakob Blumenthal, who placed 3rd in the triple jump, and Madison Smith, who finished 3rd in the long jump. In the girls' mile, Beecher had a strong showing with Brooklynn Burdick placing 1st and Allison Sadus taking 3rd. To cap off the day, the girls ran a phenomenal 4x400m relay—featuring Raina McKay, Madison Smith, Lanaya Kellum, and Brooklynn Burdick—finishing in 1st place.

On Saturday, the Varsity baseball team split with Momence.  In game one, the Bobcats took a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the 7th inning, before errors led to Momence walking away with a victory.  Clayton McKnight had two hits in the game.  In game two, Chase Maher and Chasten Clegg teamed up to pitch a shutout.  Maher went six innings and struck out 10 Redskins.  McKnight added two more hits in game two.

Girls softball traveled to Pontiac for a double header on Saturday.  Ladycats defeated Kewanee High School in game one 11-2 notching 14 hits.  Several ladies had multiple hits in the game.  Taylor Norkus earned the win.  In game two against Pontiac, Ava Lorenzatti pitched the 3-1 victory.  Makenzie Johnson homered in the game and Ava Lorenzatti had 3 hits in four at bats.  The Ladycats host Lincolnway-East today at 4:30pm.

TODAY IS THE LAST DAY TO PURCHASE prom tickets from Mrs. Hoekstra during C Lunch, Study Hall, and after school. The cost is $85 per ticket.  Students are reminded that ALL outstanding fees must be paid before purchasing your ticket, and if you are bringing a guest outside BHS, a dance guest form must be approved.  Guest forms are in the office.  After you purchase your ticket(s), you can sign up for your table seating for the meal.

BLOOD DRIVE is Wednesday.  Plenty of spots are still available.  See Mrs. Segert in the office for an appointment time. A signed parental consent form is needed for 16 year old donors only.  Those permission slips are in the office.  Roll up your sleeve and SAVE A LIFE.  It’s a good feeling and donors will receive a coupon for a pint of ice cream from Culvers.
