Girls basketball played host to Illinois Lutheran last night in the final conference game of the regular season and made a statement from the opening tip. The Bobcats jumped out early and never let up, rolling to a dominant 64–9 victory on their home floor. Beecher’s stingy defense smothered Illinois Lutheran all night, forcing tough looks and controlling the tempo from start to finish. On the offensive end, the Bobcats were unselfish and efficient, moving the ball with purpose and turning quality possessions into points as everyone got involved. Gianna Bonomo led the way with 14 points, while Cailin O’Neil added 11 in a balanced scoring effort. A highlight moment came when Karsyn Kasput scored the first varsity points of her career. The win marks Beecher’s 17th of the season, improving the Bobcats to 17–11 heading into Conference tournament and postseason play. The Conference Tournament action tips off Monday night, as Beecher takes on Clifton Central with a chance to punch their ticket to the RVC title game.
