FRIDAY, MAY 1ST

Yesterday, the Varsity Baseball team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back, defeating Grant Park by a score of 16-0.  Tyler Doran had a day at the plate going 2 for 2 with 4 RBIs.  Brady Cain also had two hits.  Chase Maher earned the win striking out 6 Dragons in the contest.

Grace Wuest’s Big Day Propels Beecher Varsity Ladycats Past Reed-Custer. Wuest drove in seven runs on two hits to lead Beecher past Reed-Custer 16-4 on Thursday. Wuest doubled in the sixth inning, scoring three runs, and doubled in the third inning, scoring two. Reed-Custer got on the board in the first inning after Mackenzie Foote singled, scoring one run. Beecher made the score 4-1 in the top of the third after Wuest doubled, scoring two runs, Allie Johnson singled, scoring one run, and Mia Chavez singled, scoring one run. Beecher scored six runs on three hits in the top of the fifth inning. Emma Henderson drew a walk, scoring one run, Adalyn Steicher induced Karsyn Kasput to hit into a fielder's choice, but one run scored, Makenzie Johnson singled, scoring one run, Wuest grounded out, scoring one run, Johnson grounded out, scoring one run, and Carmela Irwin singled, scoring one run. Taylor Norkus earned the win for Beecher Varsity Ladycats. The starting pitcher gave up eight hits and four runs (three earned) over six innings, striking out seven and walking none. Steicher stepped in the circle first for Reed-Custer. The starter allowed 10 hits and 12 runs over four innings, striking out none and walking five. Beecher tallied 13 hits in the game. Johnson set the tone at the top of the lineup, leading Beecher with three hits in three at bats. Irwin and Chavez each collected multiple hits. Johnson led with two walks. Overall, the team had a strong eye at the plate, accumulating seven walks for the game. Foote drove the middle of the lineup, leading Reed-Custer with two runs batted in. The third baseman went 3-for-3 on the day. Kirstin Klein collected two hits for Reed-Custer in three at bats.

THIS WEEKEND! Drama Club presents "She Kills Monsters" Friday and Saturday at 7pm, Sunday at 3pm. Performances will be held at the Community Center on Penfield Street. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. Cost is $5 for students and $10 for adults.
