Thursday, April 23

Girls softball remains undefeated after winning at Illiana Christian yesterday 1-0.  Taylor Norkus pitched another stellar game striking out 10 batters, giving up five hits and walking one.  Makenzie Johnson had two hits in three at bats.  Allie Johnson singled in the fourth inning, scoring the only run of the game.  The team travels to Wilmington today.

Yesterday, the varsity baseball team came out on top against Reed Custer by a score of 6-4.  Santino Imhof's triple in the third inning scored three runs and gave the Bobcats the lead.  Also, Noah Hanson's double in the fifth inning scored two more.  Easton Lane struck out 8 Comets in 4.2 innings of work earning the victory, while Nicholas Fox pitched 2.1 innings of scoreless relief.

The track and field team competed earlier this week at the Tony Thorson Invitational at Dwight high school and came away with several top finishes. In the girls 4x800 meter relay, Rachel Imig, Maeve McDermott, Lanaya Kellum and Madison Smith took the victory. The boys 4x200 meter relay had a great race and placed 2nd with a team consisting of Jakob Blumenthal, Conner Cochrane, Adrian Sandoval and Logan Resedean. Finally, in the last event of the evening, Maeve McDermott, Madison Smith, Conner Cochrane and Adrian Sandoval beat some very fast teams to place 3rd in the mixed 4x400 meter relay.

Families, staff, and underclassmen will be invited to walk through and view the displays before Senior Awards Night to celebrate your achievements.

Display boards are due by Monday, 4/27.

• Lastly, please email me 5 photos for a display wall and/or slideshow I am creating.

Photos can range from baby pictures to senior pictures and may include you alone, with family, or with friends. All photos must be school-appropriate.
