Last night the girls soccer team fought hard but came up short against a very talented Peotone team. Grace Durante had the lone Bobcat goal.
Girls softball defeated Clifton Central 7-0 yesterday behind a strong pitching performance from Ava Lorenzatti. Ava struck out 15 batters allowing no hits over 7 innings. At the plate, Mia Chavez, Elena Kvasnicka, Taylor Norkus, Ava Lorenzatti, and Ava Olson each collected one hit. Also, Makenzie Johnson, Ava Lorenzatti, Alexa Gliva, and Liliana Irwin each drove in one run. Elena Kvasnicka had two stolen bases.
Yesterday, varsity baseball was defeated by Clifton Central by a score of 9 to 3. Nicholas Fox battled on the mound to keep the Bobcats in the game, however the Bobcat offense could not muster enough production. Ryan Cruz hit his second home run on the year, while Steven Fezler added an RBI single.
The girls and boys track and field teams both placed 6th at the Fresh/Soph Watseka Invitational last night. Madison Smith led the girls team with a 2nd place finish in the 300m hurdles and a 3rd place finish in the long jump. Fiona Hagan-Storbeck also had a strong day, placing 3rd in the shot put and 6th in the discus. Raina McKay added to the team’s success with a 4th place finish in the 400m dash. The girls 4x400m relay team—Jaslynn Vargas, Annabelle Kapchinske, Raina McKay, and Madison Smith—also delivered an impressive performance, finishing in 2nd place. On the boys side, Jadyn Stout led the team with a 2nd place finish in the high jump. Jevin Thompson earned 3rd place in the 2-mile run. The boys 4x800m relay team, consisting of Ayden Belt, Jake Papas, Alfredo Ramirez, and Oliver Lause, also secured a 3rd place finish. The 4x400m relay team of Ayden Belt, Jake Papas, Adrian Sandoval, and Logan Resedean placed 4th. Adrian Sandoval added a 5th place finish in the 400m dash, and Jake Papas finished 5th in the mile run.
