Dear Brooklyn College Student:
Summer registration has begun on Friday, March 1 by open enrollment (no appointment required). In order to ensure that you get a seat in a class, it is extremely important that you register as soon as possible. There will be no set enrollment appointments. This applies to both undergraduate and graduate students. If you wait, you may find that the classes you want have been closed or cancelled due to low enrollment. Please register early! Overtallies will not be given.
Classes offered during the summer are very intense, however with dedication; the motivated student has an opportunity to accumulate credits in a very short time.
You can find more important dates within the semester, including the full calendars, at the following site:
https://www.brooklyn.edu/registrar/academic-calendars/
We have some great resources available for you and our students:
SESSION 1 (5/28/2024 - 7/11/2024) - SESSION 2 (7/15/2024 - 8/20/2024)
NOTE: The following courses (CISC 1115 10BC, CISC 1170 10V, CISC 3115 10BC), runs from 5/28/2024 through 8/20/2024.
It is highly recommended that majors see a Deputy Chair each semester to plan out their schedule for the next semester. Do this BEFORE registration begins.
If you anticipating needing permission for a course, please come now! DO not wait until the pre-registration rush.
Students who may need Financial Aid for the Summer, should consult with the Office of Financial Aid prior to registering. The CIS department cannot offer any advice regarding eligibility for financial aid.
New e-permit deadline - Effective Summer/Fall 2024, CUNY has changed the deadline for permit requests. Previously, the deadline was the day before the semester began, but now it has been moved to 7 days prior to the start of the semester.
- Summer Session One: May 20
- Summer Session Two: July 8
- Fall: August 21
ePermits in CIS will only be given as Snior Colleges and if you have already completed your residency requirement.
You may meet with the advisors during their office hours or make an appointment via email.
