Greetings of a Happy New Semester from the Magner Center! February is on our heels, let’s get moving!

Here is a little bit about of what is in store for your students this Spring 2025!

 

Coming Soon – Magner + Project Basta’s Discovery Program (a Pilot Program)

  • Students will be able to apply for a 5-Week Hybrid Program that includes job search prep
  • Exclusive job opportunities ONLY for those who complete the program
    • Employers have earmarked jobs that only completers are eligible to apply for

 

February is Get to Know Us (Month)

We will be hosting virtual and in-person events for students to familiarize themselves with our office.

  • Virtual Super Bowl Party –Sun. Feb 9th, 630pm to 930pm
    • Pop-in during the game to find about more about the Magner Career Center and to ask any career question you want!
  • Careers & Cocoa – Thurs. Feb 13th, 11am to 3pm
    • Pop-in during our Valentine’s Eve themed Open House, grab some info and some Hot Chocolate!

March is Intern/Job Fair & Stipend Month

  • Spr 2025 Intern/Job Fair: Thurs. March 20th, 1130am to 230pm
    • Attend our many fair related programming, including resume review and intern/job fair navigation
  • Spr 2025 Stipend Deadline: Mon. March 31st, 11:59pm
    • Stipends during this review term may be used for unpaid internships in Summer or Fall 2025

 

April is Mentor Month

  • All Month Long!
    • Students are encouraged to apply for the many opportunities to meet successful BC Alum for small group lunches, coffee/tea chats, or office visits w/fellow students
    • Students will receive notification starting Early March regarding the initiative

 

May is Get Right for Summer (Month)

  • Networking Night: Thurs. May 8th, 6pm to 9pm
    • Meet alum in various fields
  • Post-Grad Career Bootcamp w/Mini Job Fair: Thurs. May 29th, 1130am to 230pm
    • Enhance your job search skills including interviewing, then meet with employers

Students are encouraged to log on to BC Handshake to search for internships and jobs.

  • Completing your student profile will enhance your experience and make it easier for employers to find you.

 

As always, students can visit our office during Walk-In Wednesdays, 10am to 6pm (during fall/spring when classes are in session).

  • Resume review and other career related questions can be answered without an appointment
