Good Afternoon, Dear Campus Sustainability Council Members and Friends,
We’re excited to invite you to two upcoming events that celebrate sustainability, community, and urban ecology at Brooklyn College!
🌲 Brooklyn College Tree Inventory: Connecting Data, Ecology, & Community
📅 Saturday, October 4 | 🕛 12:00–3:00 PM
📍 Meet outside the Performing Arts Center (PAC/TOW)
Celebrate City of Forest Day with us by participating in a hands-on tree inventory of the Brooklyn College campus! No prior experience needed — bring your curiosity and enthusiasm. Open for students, faculty, staff, and the public.
Sponsored by Urban Sustainability Program, and Co-sponsored by the BC Sustainability Club, and the Office of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability.
This interactive event combines science, sustainability, and community involvement. You will help identify and map campus trees, then harvest fresh produce from the BC Eats Garden to share.
🌳 Big Reuse Street Tree Care with Brooklyn College
📅 Tuesday, October 7 | 🕧 12:15–2:15 PM
📍 2920 Campus Rd, Brooklyn, NY 11210 (Outside PAC/TOW Theater)
Join Big Reuse and the Office of Environmental Health, Safety, and Sustainability for a street tree care event. We’ll be adding compost and mulch to the street trees right outside the main entrance.
Co-sponsored by the BC Sustainability Club.
All supplies will be provided. Please dress comfortably for the weather, bring a water bottle, and feel free to invite friends and neighbors!
We hope to see you at one or both events as we work together to make our campus and community greener and more resilient.
