Dear Bryan-College Station Retriever Club Members,

I hope this message finds you well!

I’ll be sending out an agenda for our meeting, scheduled for next Saturday. I’ve also asked Jan to send out the minutes from our last meeting as soon as possible.

Important Reminder:
Current members will be voting for the 2025–2026 Board of Directors. As announced at our last meeting, the Nominations Committee has proposed the following slate:

  • President: Kelly Curry

  • Vice President: Watt Taggart

  • Secretary: Jan Connolly

  • Treasurer: Dan Wall

  • Board Members:

    • Tony Lyles

    • JC Braswell

    • Clare Wigginton

    • Michael Head

    • Shawn Kelso

The Board has been working hard on next weekend’s get-together, and I’m super excited about how everything is coming together!

Club Updates:

  • We’ve rescheduled Fetch Day.

  • We’ve booked and started promoting the Snake Clinic for June.

  • In July, we’re thrilled to have Katie Brouillette joining us for a "Judge’s Perspective" talk, covering the similarities and differences between HRC and AKC hunt testing.

40th Anniversary Party Details:
Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors, we’re able to do a little more for Play Day this year! We could still use a few more sponsorships — if you’re interested, please reach out to Mike or me. We’ve got some great door prizes lined up, and so far, we have about 60 RSVPs and over 30 dogs!

  • Play Day activities

  • Competitive games

The Connollys are working hard to prepare the site and will be arranging for lunch and the meeting to be around the pool again this year. We’ll also have a Friday crew helping with final preparations.

Volunteers Needed:
We’ll have separate training stations for pattern blinds and wagon wheels during morning training. I have a few volunteers already, but if anyone else would like to help out, it would be much appreciated!
Additionally, if someone would like to coordinate the games for after the meeting, that would be fantastic.

A Few Reminders:

  • We’ll be holding awards during the meeting and doing door prizes at the close.

  • Please sign in when you arrive (we’ll collect email and phone numbers to update Membership Pro records).

  • Bring a chair, sunscreen, and be ready for a fun day!

I am so grateful for everyone’s support in making this a memorable event. I can’t wait to see all of you — and your pups — next Saturday!

May 3rd Training will start at 7am 

Lunch/awards/ officer election meeting at 12:00 noon.
Dog games and other activities after the meeting.
