April 21, 2025   https://www.akc.org/legislative-alerts/texas-ask-committee-support-bill-protecting-field-trials-tomorrow/     Tomorrow (Tuesday, April 22), the Texas Senate Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs Committee will have a hearing on Senate Bill 2801, which authorizes field trials in Texas for fur-bearing animals and squirrels. Current Texas law only specifically authorizes field trials for pen-raised game birds, and this legislation should bring Texas law up to date so that a wide range of field trials can continue in the state.    The American Kennel Club supports SB 2801 and encourages Texas residents to contact members of the Senate Water, Agriculture, and Rural Affairs Committee in support of this bill.   Committee contact information can be found HERE. The hearing will begin 8:00am in room 2E.20.
