Pete Wernick’s Bluegrass Camp
Aug 25-29  •  Silver Bay, NY on Lake George
Two camps, concurrent Sunday - Friday:

Level 1-1.5 Jam Camp for New Jammers/Early Intermediates
Level 2 Bluegrass Camp for Experienced Jammers
Hi folks,

Just want to let you know — we're just days from the April 12 deadline for a $15 discount on this year's Silver Bay Bluegrass Camp in NY's Adirondack Mountains.

When I say this is the best bluegrass camp I can imagine, I really mean it! I've run music camps since 1980 and worked at many camps run by others. And all the things I think make a camp great come together in one place and time -- the end of summer at the Silver Bay Y and Conference Center on the shores of serene Lake George. Our students love this camp and I couldn't be prouder to present it!

Here's why you should join us!
  • First-rate staff — Experienced pro bluegrass musicians (top-notch pickers and singers) and teachers -- as knowledgeable and as enjoyable as can be found in the northeast:
Austin Scelzo (Camp Co-Director) Emory Lester, Bob Amos, Barry Mitterhoff, Ellen Carlson, Scott Hopkins, Ira Gitlin — not necessarily bluegrass household names, but they're great musicians and I know of no better teachers.
  • Beautiful and comfortable environment
  • Two levels of instruction for each bluegrass instrument
  • Nighttime activities featuring music, education, and fun (karaoke, history, open mic, gospel show, optional student concert, more)
  • Daily bluegrass trio singing instruction with coaches
  • 6/1 student/teacher ratio, individualized instruction
  • Limited in size -- everyone knows everyone
  • Band lab with optional performance
  • Lots of jamming in balanced bluegrass groups, with instructive coaching by staff
  • Optional instruction sessions on many topics (songwriting, music theory, performance, more)
  • Great-sounding 110 year-old large all-wood auditorium
  • On-site accommodations from humble/lo-cost to upscale
  • Many great outdoor and water activities for all ages (kayaks, climbing gym, tennis, etc.)
