Hi,
Yes, I’m a 30 year veteran of this festival. Swan’s island is reachable by ferry or private boat. The ferry leaves from Bass Harbor, on Mt Dessert peninsula, part of Arcadia national park. It’s not a festival the same way that other folk/bluegrass festivals are. No daytime workshops or concerts, no parking lot jam, lodging is tricky. It’s mid-week, Tuesday-Thursday, and limited seating at the Oddfellows Hall for the evening concerts. The afternoons of Tuesday and Wednesday are from 3:30 - 4:30 on the water in Burnt Coat Harbor, with a boat full of chanteys sung by the evening performers. The musicians __ about 24 people in solo or duos__range in age from teenagers to boomers, many are songwriters, many veterans and a few newbies, from around New England, New York, Ohio, and California.
The founder-director is Doug Day, who lives in Rockport ME, with a house on Swans Island. You can reach him through the FB page for Sweet Chariot Music Festival.
I hope this helps,
Daisy Nell

Hi there,
Has anyone in this email group been to this festival? I'll be going this year and am curious what it's like. Appreciative of any shared insights.
With gratitude,
Tami Kellogg
