This Sunday January 18th from 6-8 PM Roy, Roy & Green will be playing the weekly Nippo Lake Bluegrass Series at the Nippo Lake Golf Club Restaurant which runs from October to April each year.
RRG fuses tight vocal harmonies with a propulsive acoustic rhythm section, They create a sound that draws from bluegrass, old time, folk, and country traditions. This Sunday's lineup will be Winnie Roy (guitar, vocals), Steve Roy (mandolin, fiddle, vocals), they’ll be joined by Betsy Green on fiddle & vocals, and for this performance, from the Boston based bands "The New Grownups" and "Rachel Sumner & Traveling Light" Mike Siegel a highly sought after bassist will be holding down the bottom on the doghouse bass!
Whitney Roy’s lilting vocals will provide the backbone of RRG's vocal blend, while her solid rhythm guitar anchors the bands rhythm section. Steve Roy is one of New England’s premier multi-instrumentalists, and has performed and toured with many of the acoustic world’s top acts. Betsy's a very proficient, well known fiddler in the New England region. She performs regularly with her siblings The Green Sisters (an act you don't want to miss) as well with many other regional musicians.
