BARGE 2026 will take place at the Orleans Hotel & Casino from July 20 through July 25.  The event schedule for BARGE 2026 is below.  We expect to open registration next week.  Hotel rates and booking information will be forthcoming.

The tournament buy-ins below are accurate, but the house fee taken from each buy-in will be announced later.  We expect they will be close to the same as last year (which were GREAT).

BARGE 2026 Schedule

Monday July 20

4:00 pm
Board of Directors Meeting via Zoom

6:00 pm
No Kings No Limit Hold’em  Memorial Charity Tournament (with rebuys) ($140 with $60 rebuys)
  • In memory of Peter Secor, Gillian Groves, Tanya Peck-Devenport, Alan Bostick, and Art Reber
  • Standard no limit hold’em except kings are stripped from the deck (hat tip to Ken Kubey!)
    • AQJT9 is NOT a straight so the highest possible straight is a queen high straight (just because kings don’t appear in the deck doesn’t mean they don’t exist!)
  • Unlimited $60 rebuys during first hour (must be at or below starting stack)
  • All players may add-on for $60 at first break
  • All rebuy/add-on proceeds to be donated to winner’s choice(s) of the following charities, with a minimum of $250 to be donated to each of the preferred charities listed below:
    • PBS Foundation (Peter Secor’s preferred charity)
    • Team Rubicon (Tanya Peck-Devenport’s preferred charity)
    • The Bread Project (Alan Bostick’s preferred charity)
    • American Association for the Advancement of Science (Art Reber’s preferred charity)

Tuesday July 21

Triple Draw Dealer’s Choice ($100, reentry permitted until first break)
  • 6 handed; all games are played limit
  • Dealer’s choice of the following games:
    • A-5 Triple Draw, 2-7 Triple Draw, Archie, Badugi, Badacey, Badeucey, Draw High (no bug)
  • featuring chaos-style reshuffling (seating at each table is redrawn at first two breaks; button is awarded to player who last paid the big blind)

OE ($140, reentry permitted until first break)

Wednesday July 22

11:00 am
Savage Average No Limit Hold’em with Nit Levels ($140, reentry permitted until first break)
  • Dynamic blinds are used instead of a tournament clock
    • Levels progress as players are eliminated to maintain an average stack of at least 50 big blinds
  • Featuring:
    • Nit Levels
      • At the beginning of each level before the final table, the dealer will issue a Nit Card to each player.  When a player wins a pot, they return the card to the dealer.  Players still holding a Nit Card at the end of a level must pay an ante of 5 big blinds for the first pot of the new level.
      • At the final table, players will once again receive a Nit Card.  The last player holding a Nit Card at the final table is eliminated and their chips are removed from play.
        • When this happens, the remaining level breaks will be recalculated based on the remaining number of chips in play
    • chaos-style reshuffling (seating at each table is redrawn at first two breaks; button is awarded to player who last paid the big blind)

Wonky Action Razz (second chance event) ($100; reentry permitted until first break)
  • limit mix of Wonky Donkey and Action Razz; games change by level
    • In Wonky Donkey, players receive two cards.  If the majority of the flop is red, the game is hold’em.  If the majority of the flop is black, players receive two more cards and the game is Omaha 8 or better.

Thursday July 23

Blackjack ($50)
  • this will once again be run informally and rake-free

Funbook Pot Limit Omaha ($140; NO reentry)
  • Players start with 10k and get 2 lammers worth 5k each
  • Each entry comes with a special coupon book – redeem ‘em and weep!

Friday July 24

Crayfish Atomic Pineapple (second chance event) ($100; reentry permitted until first break)
  • In Atomic Pineapple, players receive five cards and discard one after the betting on the flop, turn, and river to end up with a two card hand.
  • In Crayfish poker, all five board cards are dealt on the flop.  Instead of a turn, the dealer rolls a die and the corresponding card is taken out of play (or if a 6 is rolled all cards remain).  Instead of a river, the dealer rolls another die and the corresponding card is taken out of play (or if a 6 is rolled all cards remain; if the prior roll is repeated nothing changes and the four board cards remain).
