Excuse? lol, He's making an analogy. Whether you think it's a good one or not, he demonstrates the capability of forming one and articulating it. That's a win, based on that alone, in my book. The fact that actors are claiming they completely missed that it's an analogy, can't make sense of the literal words AND that you actually believe that is something completely different.
