Original size mode+Fix scroll position is buggy when switching to next image

Sometimes switching to next image with these 2 config will make the next image show only part of its area. A lot of space is filled with black background or grid background. But adjusting image position or adjusting view mode would immediately fix this situation.

There's also another two suggestions about "100% original size" mode: 

1. I hope the default window width would not be restricted to the width in "Fit in window" mode. When viewing an extremely tall image, the window would be very narrow, and I have to stretch the window size manually to view the whole image without horizontal scrolling. I would expect the window width to fit that of the original image unless it exceeds the screen width.

2. When switching from "Fit in window" mode to "100% original size" mode, it would be convenient to focus on the area where mouse pointed. For example, if the mouse is pointed to upper left corner of the image, switching to original size mode can automatically scroll the image to upper left corner, too.

- For your second issue occurring with an extremely long vertical image, we could not understand exactly what problem you are experiencing now. Consider providing us with a more detailed description (including a screenshot or video as well) of the issue.

- And for the last issue with switching the view mode from "Fit in Window" to "Original Size", due to several complicated circumstances, we have no current plan to change the way the app currently functions. We ask you for much understanding.

Thanks for your reply.

I just forgot to mention that "Adjust window size to image size" is enabled besides of "Original Size" and "Fix Scroll Position".

With the 3 different-size image files I prepared for this example, here are the steps to reproduce the bug:

1. Open a large-size image and scroll its position to lower right-corner

2. Press Page Up to switch to a small-size image

3. Press Page Down to switch to the first image. The black background is showing and the image is positioned in a wrong way.

4. Press Page Down to switch to another image. The grid background is showing and the image is positioned in a wrong way.

These steps are only one way to reproduce the bug. Sometimes I would encounter this issue when opening another file with a new Bandiview window as long as the lower-right corner position is memorized.

For the second issue, I will try to use another long vertical image file to express the meaning.

The following two screenshots are showing two view modes of the image file. Note that the size of window in both modes remain the same.

But I would expect the "Original Size" view mode to show the full width of the image like this, which is significantly more convenient for viewing large images in windowed mode:

That is, adjust the window size to fit the image when switching view mode, not only when switching image.

In this way Bandiview can behave like "Adjust window size to image size" more closely.

Long horizontal image still suffers from the second issue.

Normally "Original Size" view mode will not show full height of the image. The window size is restricted to that of the "Fit in Window" view mode.

And I would expect "Original Size" view mode to show full height in this case:

I downloaded the beta version from the link above, but the version number is still 7.13. The first issue still exists and I cannot find any difference from the stable version. Is there something I need to enable before testing?

Hi,

I want to clarify what does "failed to replicate the problem" you said mean. Maybe it was because I failed to express the issue clearly, so I will try to reproduce the issue step by step.

After resetting to default, I checked "Adjust window size to image size" in Miscellaneous settings. I opened an image which is taller than screen for example. Pressing 9 switches to "Fit in Window" mode. I can view the whole image since it is downsized to fit the screen. The height of BandView's window is equal to that of screen, and the ratio of the window is the same as the image. If I press 0 to switch to "Original Size (100%)" mode, the window size remains unchanged, but only the image is enlarged to its original size, making the window only show the upper left corner of the image.

In my point of view, I want BandView to stretch the window size and show the full width of the image when switching to "Original Size (100%)" mode. It should show the upper half of the image but not only the upper left corner. If you still cannot understand what I mean, please refer to the example images I uploaded on April 9 which explained the second issue. If you can't replicate the problem, did you mean the window size can automatically stretch to the width of the image's original size? Please help me clarify BandView's behavior after following the steps above. Thank you.
