Wheelhouse has come out with a new report: A Foot in the Door: Growth in Participation and Equity in Dual Enrollment in California

Some findings:
  • High school students are present in nearly 14% of all community college courses.
  • One high-growth type of structured dual enrollment shows particular promise for closing equity gaps in participation: community college courses that enroll only high school students.
  • Opportunities to participate in dual enrollment often depend on the high schools students attend.

There is also a  webinar October 26 at 11am PT, hosted by College Futures Foundation, featuring these findings and complementary research by the Public Policy Institute of California.  Register for the Webinar here

It is not beyond our power to create a world in which all children have access to a good education. In my travels all over the world, I have come to realize that what distinguishes one child from another is not ability, but access. Access to education, access to opportunity, access to love. -- Nelson Mandela
