Dear Bay Region Dual Enrollment Leaders,
Thank you for joining our December Dual Enrollment Exchange meeting! The meeting recording is here and notes are here. It has also been posted on the Dual Enrollment Exchange Spotlight site.
Meeting Highlights:
Presentation: Developing a Comprehensive Advising Model: From Start to Finish
We had a quick update from Sara Sheperd (sshe...@textbookacquisitionservices.net) from Textbook Acquisition Services, a service that can help your high school partners reduce the cost of dual enrollment textbooks.
Many new resources have come out (and been added to the website) that we wanted to share:
Black Student Success in Dual Enrollment: A Case Study (CLP): Dr. Mark Jeffers, Matador Early College Program (MEC) coordinator, presented “Black Student Success in Dual Enrollment: A Case Study,” at the California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) annual education conference in October. Slides from Dr. Jeffers’ presentation are posted.
Unlocking Potential: A State Policy Roadmap for Equity and Quality in College in High School Programs for Students with Disabilities from College in High School Alliance (CHSA)
OER in Dual Enrollment: Leveraging Open Educational Resources to Expand Equitable Access This report from SREB and MHEC examines how the use of OER can make dual enrollment courses more cost-effective and increase college access for more students and provides an overview of policies across 50 states and recommendations on OER adoption and usage.
Other reminders:
Office Hours December 15th 2 to 3 pm: For office hours, bring any topics you’d like to discuss or Mallory may pick a topic for each and promote it to provide space for conversation on topics of interest. Link: https://cccconfer.zoom.us/j/6505762602
