Dear Bay Region Dual Enrollment Leaders,

Meeting Highlights: 

• Presentation: Developing a Comprehensive Advising Model: From Start to Finish

• We had a quick update from Sara Sheperd (sshe...@textbookacquisitionservices.net) from Textbook Acquisition Services, a service that can help your high school partners reduce the cost of dual enrollment textbooks. 

• Many new resources have come out (and been added to the website) that we wanted to share: 

• Black Student Success in Dual Enrollment: A Case Study (CLP): Dr. Mark Jeffers, Matador Early College Program (MEC) coordinator, presented “Black Student Success in Dual Enrollment: A Case Study,” at the California Association of Black School Educators (CABSE) annual education conference in October. Slides from Dr. Jeffers’ presentation are posted. 

• Unlocking Potential: A State Policy Roadmap for Equity and Quality in College in High School Programs for Students with Disabilities from College in High School Alliance (CHSA)

• OER in Dual Enrollment: Leveraging Open Educational Resources to Expand Equitable Access This report from SREB and MHEC examines how the use of OER can make dual enrollment courses more cost-effective and increase college access for more students and provides an overview of policies across 50 states and recommendations on OER adoption and usage.
