Hello!

I have a question about whether athletes enrolled in a CCAP course can use it in their GPA calculation to remain eligible for sports (as they need to maintain a 2.0)? Are any high schools using CCAP grades in their sports eligibility?

Thanks,
Kelly Schmieg

Hi Kelly, Not sure if this is the same type of situation, but for us, as a Middle College, I often provide grade checks for athletes participating in sports at their home schools.

If the request comes close to the completion of a semester, I share both high school and college final grades. If mid-semester, we share the progress reports we collect mid-semester. This includes the 3 high school (Middle College) classes, along with the progress grades from the college courses. Usually, our students are generally in good standing, so determining the exact GPA has never been an issue.
Hope this helps!

We include CCAP courses for everything. Because it is added to their transcript, it has the same impact as a high school class.  I have not heard a reason as to why we cannot do this. So, yes, we count it toward their eligibility for sports.
