I wanted to share the event below and encourage you to attend! Even if you cannot attend, check out the report (link below).

You’re invited to Dual Enrollment for Special Populations: Leveraging a High-Impact Strategy for California’s Most Underserved Students on April 1, 2021.
Interest in dual enrollment in California is rising, as education leaders search for innovations to improve college enrollment and degree completion rates. The College and Career Access Pathways Act (CCAP) just reached its five-year anniversary, marking a timely opportunity for analysis of the impact of dual enrollment. In spite of robust growth in participation, equity gaps remain, and these gaps are especially pronounced for English learners, students with disabilities, foster youth, and young people experiencing homelessness. These students from special populations, which collectively comprise nearly one-third of students in California’s K-12 schools, are too often overlooked or excluded from dual enrollment opportunities.
Join an invitation-only conversation among state leaders, intermediary organizations, and researchers about the untapped potential of dual enrollment as a college transition strategy for special populations. The briefing will feature a newly released report from JFF that explores the factors contributing to dual enrollment access and success for special populations, as well as recent research jointly published by Wheelhouse and PACE analyzing current dual enrollment participation rates for these subgroups. Participants will have an opportunity to discuss recommendations for local and state-level actions to help ensure that dual enrollment is designed and implemented with a focus on the most underserved student groups.
We are excited to announce our special guest speaker, Dr. Aisha Lowe, Vice Chancellor for Educational Services and Support, California Community Colleges Chancellor's Office, who will provide remarks on the implications of the JFF and Wheelhouse research.
Please register by clicking the button below. We look forward to seeing you on April 1!
Sincerely,
The JFF and Wheelhouse Teams
