The College and Career Access Pathways Act (CCAP) just reached its five-year anniversary, marking a timely opportunity for analysis of the impact of dual enrollment. In spite of robust growth in participation, equity gaps remain, and these gaps are especially pronounced for English learners, students with disabilities, foster youth, and young people experiencing homelessness. These students from special populations, which collectively comprise nearly one-third of students in California’s K-12 schools, are too often overlooked or excluded from dual enrollment opportunities. | | Join an invitation-only conversation among state leaders, intermediary organizations, and researchers about the untapped potential of dual enrollment as a college transition strategy for special populations. The briefing will feature a newly released report from JFF that explores the factors contributing to dual enrollment access and success for special populations, as well as recent research jointly published by Wheelhouse and PACE analyzing current dual enrollment participation rates for these subgroups.
