It was lovely to meet many of you at the AZLA Conference.  There were teacher librarians from the Phoenix area and far reaches of Arizona. The sessions were excellent and a wide variety. Patty Jimenez's sessions on Library Orientation and on Graphic Novels and Monica Lourenco's session on Fun Activities were exceptional.  I learned ideas from city and county libraries that I can adapt to the school library.
Kathy Lester's presentation as AASL President highlighted the support that AASL provides to all states.  She also addressed the book banning legislation that is occurring.
T-L's from around our state are finding different messages from their districts. Beth has shared the Tucson School Board document in response to the legislation.  https://govboard.tusd1.org/Comments.  I have not received many responses to share with this listserve about what is happening in districts around the state so please respond and share.
AZLA Professional Development next month will be about book banning.  Be sure to register!
