The countdown is on for the AzLA Annual Conference, October 19-20 at the beautiful We Ko Pa Resort in Ft. McDowell. As of today, there are only 72 days remaining for the best conference you will attend this year!
Our conference committee has been working extremely hard to bring you an outstanding line up of keynote speakers, breakout session presenters, exhibitors, fun activities and opportunities to network with library staff from across the state. This is an event you do not want to miss! All the cool people attend the AzLA Annual Conference and I know all of you are super cool!
We are also offering pre-conference sessions on Wednesday, October 18th. There is a full slate of sessions to pick from that range from healthy living programming in your library, early literacy STEM resources, the upcoming eclipses and an e-resource forum. Be sure to check out the conference page on our website to learn more about all the offerings at this year's conference. I have attached the conference schedule so you can make plans for the sessions you want to attend.
I also want to challenge all of you to participate in our cornhole tournament which will be held at our Welcome Reception, Thursday evening. Do you have what it takes to beat me? Cornhole is kinda my jam! This will be a 50/50 fundraising event with 50% of the proceeds going to cash prizes for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams!
The Advanced Rate for the conference ends on September 8th so you want to make sure you register before then to get the best deal!
Don't forget to nominate a fellow librarian or library staff member for an award! We have several opportunities to recognize outstanding library staff for the great work that they do. The deadline for the nominations has been extended but time is running short. Make sure you get your nominations in before August 25th.
I look forward to seeing many of you there! There will be raffle prizes, and special giveaways at the opening general session. This is my last year serving as your AzLA President and I want to go out with a bang because after all, it's ALL SYSTEMS GO! at this year's conference! Register now to be at the biggest party of the year!
