On February 1st,  The National Citizen and Community Science Library Network are offering a free professional development webinar on planning for Citizen Science Month (April!). In addition to all the resources and advice shared in the webinar, Lisa Lewis, AzLA President, will present her experience with Citizen Science Month and how it has benefited her community. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions and get help brainstorming programming for April. On January 24, 2023, 2:00 pm Est | 11:00 am Pacific join us for SciStarter LIVE! We’ve got two different ways for you to contribute to scientific research next time you’re out in the snow.

We’ll meet Katreen Wikstrom Jones, Cryosphere Hazards Scientist for the State of Alaska, who will tell us how winter mountain hikers can measure snow depth for Community Snow Observations. And a project leader from IceWatch USA will tell us how you can monitor a body of water near you, reporting when it’s frozen, to help researchers monitor climate change.
