Program Description:

In-person library escape rooms were a popular programming trend in the last few years and now is an excellent time to go virtual! Whether you are building a virtual escape room from scratch or want to repurpose your ideas from an in-person program online, virtual escape rooms are a great and interactive way to reach patrons during the pandemic. Creating a virtual escape room is free, easy, and can be tailored to a wide range of libraries and audiences. Participants will learn the steps to build an online escape room for free using Google Forms and best practices for converting an in-person escape room to an online format.

Presenter Bio:

Lauren Clementino is the Training and Volunteer Services Librarian and Interim Reference Supervisor at the Flagstaff City-Coconino County Public Library, where she has worked for almost six years. In 2019, Lauren and her coworkers planned and facilitated several in-person escape rooms. Last year, after the onset of the pandemic, Lauren began creating virtual escape rooms and accompanying online trivia to engage with patrons remotely.
