Special Election for President-Elect

Dear AzLA Membership,

 

After the recent election, Lisa Lewis accepted the position of President-Elect.  The position of President was vacant at the time of the election, and not eligible for direct election. 

 

Returning the Association to a three-year rotation of the presidency (first year as President-Elect, second year as President, third year as Past President) is a priority for the AzLA Executive Board, and the Board has the power to appoint a sitting board member to the vacant position.  With that in mind, the Board has appointed Lisa Lewis as the new President.  In order to return the presidency to a three year rotation, Lisa has agreed to remain as President until October 2023.

 

This leaves the President-Elect position vacant, and the Association will now hold a special election to fill the position.  The new President-Elect will also serve until October 2023, at which time that candidate will become President. We are asking for nominations for this position. Nominations will be accepted through February 4.

 

The Special Election will begin on February 7 and run for two weeks, closing on February 21.  Eligibility requirements and position details are available at https://www.azla.org/elections.
