Presenter Bios:
Alyse Jordan is an Associate Librarian at Arizona State University at the Charles Trumbull Hayden Library. She holds a doctorate in organizational leadership from Nova Southeastern University, a Master of Science in Information Studies, and a Specialist in Education degree in Library and Information Studies from Florida State University. Her research examines formal mentoring in the workplace and cultural identity. She participated in the inaugural 2007 American Library Association Emerging Leader and 2012 Harvard Institutes for Higher Education: Leadership Institute for Academic Librarians.
Sheila Paul Shedd serves as the Senior Director for Global Engagement & Corporate Partnerships in the Career & Professional Development Services division at Arizona State University. She oversees the Corporate Engagement and Alumni Relations unit that engages organizations, both domestic and global, to provide quality internships and career opportunities for over 100,000 students and 500,000+ alumni. Sheila is of Haitian-American descent and speaks fluent French Creole. Sheila earned her Master’s in Business Administration and double-majored in Business Management and International Business at Florida International University.
Jessica Salow is currently an Archives Specialist at Arizona State University Library with the Community-Driven Archives Initiative (CDA) which was established in 2017 through the generous support of The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. She obtained her Masters in Library and Information Science (MLIS) from The University of Arizona and is an alumna of Arizona State University. Her current work with the CDA team focuses on building relationships with historically marginalized communities (Latinx, Black, Asian & Pacific Islander, Indigenous and the LGBTQ+) in Arizona by creating intergenerational and intersectional safe spaces for people within these communities to acknowledge historical traumas. Our work in this space is meant to redefine the traditional definition and function of an institutional archive and bring to light archival material that has previously been overlooked by institutional archives.
Brad Vogus is an Associate Liaison Librarian (Social Sciences Division) in the Engagement and Learning Department at the ASU Library. He is the coordinator of the Federal Depository Library, located at the Fletcher Library on the ASU West campus. Brad’s expertise includes government information (Federal, State of Arizona, Arizona municipal, United Nations), legislative materials, and U.S. Census information. He earned a Master of Information and Library Studies (MILS) from the University of Michigan, and a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature (Psychology minor) from Indiana University.
