To the regulated community.
Today, the EPA issued a waiver for the Cleaner Burning Gasoline area. A copy of the EPA waiver and associated state enforcement discretion letter are attached. To be clear, this waiver does not allow the use of conventional gasoline within the CBG-covered area, nor does it allow additional high-RVP gasoline to be brought into the CBG-covered area.
This waiver protects our fuel supply by allowing additional time at the terminals to transition to the summertime CBG following some pipeline disruptions that occurred earlier this month. Additionally, this waiver protects retail and fleet facilities in the event this lag time has prevented the transition of their tanks to meet the required 7.0 psi RVP by May 31, 2024, as required under ARS §3-3433(F).
