Hi all,

Just a quick update on OpenFTA development opportunities -

There's a few more items posted on the OpenFTA issue list, if anyone
is interested in taking a look:

https://github.com/OpenFTA/OpenFTA/issues

Cheers,

Mark

Yes, all patches happily accepted.

Because you ignored the message in the last email, here it is again:

USE THE PUBLIC MAILING LIST AND DO NOT EMAIL ME IN PRIVATE.

I have cc'd the list.

Mark

Mark,

I tried initially going through your website and forum for more information and I frequently encounter error messages and failed page serve attempts:

>>Server Error in '/' Application.

I have no problems using the project mailing list. I did join. However, it seems this list doesn't have any topics or your group permissions are not set correctly? I can't tell if this group has any history let alone the ability to search through it. Most groups are setup to allow topic submission and viewing directly without subscribing to an email list. For example:

I actually did attempt to reply via your group in the drop down on your initial post, but there were no actions to reply to the group, only the author. I would suggest updating your group permissions to make it more convenient to use and fix the page serve issues on your website.

Hi Jason,

Thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately the website is a bit old and decrepit
but after a quick browse, I've not seen any of the errors you report. If you
could be more specific about what you're doing to get those errors, maybe
someone could help. I'd be tempted to set up a 'github pages' site and bypass
this old asp-based website, which I don't have much experience with - if only
I had the time :)

The list is set up to be as open as possible, but you are correct in not
finding any topics on there - there are none. We get a few emails regarding
openFTA, and some of the more lucid ones are directed towards the mailing list,
but so far none have made it on there. This does cause some annoyance, as you
may have found out...

I initailly set up the github repo and mailing list to try and make the code
more accessible to potential contributors, and the website was created
pre-github and the like. So far, no one has come forward with patches - which
is a shame, as the tool is very widely used, giving the number of downloads
from the website.

I wasn't aware of the reply-to issue, did you select the big red 'POST REPLY'
button at the top of the post? I think the google interface can be a bit
confusing at times.

Cheers,

Mark

Well I might have some coming for you ;)

That's the thing, It's not showing up for me in your group like it does others.

Thanks,

Jason
