OpenFTA for 64bit Windows

Hi all,

I just wanted to share our latest and continuing builds for OpenFTA for 64bit Windows. Feel free to download builds from https://vanguard.houghtonassociates.com/browse/OPENFTA-OPENFTA . Eventually, we may offer linux as well. This build works with Java 1.6.31 and up.

Hello Jason,

Good work! Could you share the modified source also, because I want to try to compile on OS X and I run into difficulties as Apple decided we may only talk Java 8 on their computers... :-\ You seem to have some code changes that make it work on later JRE's, so that might help!

Also by chance, did you get the unit time calculations to work?

By the way: just tried it on my Windows 7-64 bit laptop and it works like a breeze, as long as you don't put it in the protected area of C:\Program files\. The speed increase is significant!

I noticed the bug in the analysis over time (either by probability or monte carlo) isn't solved. That means: in probability analysis you can enter whatever you want, the unit time still remains 1.0 in the result. In the Monte Carlo window the unit time part can't be selected.

You don't happen to be able to fix this, won't you?

Sorry I didn't get to you earlier. This got buried in the lists i subscribe to. I guess I should push those changes back to their project. I haven't done much testing with the tools, other than get it in a state to open and explore. A few analysts I work with were testing it out. I not sure what your situation maybe or who you work with, but we certainly do provide services to update the tool. You're welcome to inquire us at opens...@houghtonassociates.com. Otherwise, we make updates as per request from our analysts or FAA contacts.
