TÄSSÄ TÄÄ OLI. Kevät nimittäin - tää on mun viimeinen viikkis tältä keväältä. Kiitos kaikille aivan ihanasta vuodesta tähän mennessä <33 Mulle itselle tässä keväässä on ollut parasta se valtava yhteisöllisyyden tunne, jota oon kokenut Athenella ja hallituksessa ollessa. Toivottavasti myös teillä on ollut paljon ihania juttuja, ja kiitos joka ikiselle tätä lukevalle (vaikka lukisitte tätä koko viikkistä ekaakin kertaa vasta tänään) siitä, että ootte ollut osa mun kevättä. Aivan käsittämätöntä että puolet tästä vuodesta on nyt jo takanapäin? Mutta oon oikeesti maailman kiitollisin ja aion pitää elämäni kesän tänä vuonna. | Viikon hyvä uutinen: Ranskassa uusi laki helpottaa kolonialismin aikana varastettujen artefaktien palauttamista
Kuten monet muutkin maat, myös Ranska on imperialismin aikana varastanut erilaisia artefakteja kolonisoimistaan maista. Monet niistä ovat tällä hetkelläkin edelleen esillä länsimaalaisissa museoissa. Länsimaissa onkin ollut viime vuosina käynnissä keskustelu siitä, pitäisikö näitä artefakteja palauttaa maihin, joista ne on varastettu. Nyt Ranskassa on hyväksytty historiallinen laki, joka helpottaa tätä palauttamista merkittävästi. Muista Euroopan maista myös Hollanti on jo vuonna 2021 helpottanut varastettujen artefaktien palauttamista alkuperäisille omistajilleen. |

The robot lives in your home, free of charge, and goes back at the end of the challenge Not a weekend hackathon, not a month — a full quarter of a year to play around, dive deep, and actually learn.
If you've been wanting to get into Robot Learning, RL, or sim2real, this is the opportunity. A 7000€ prize pool rewards the most useful projects.

Stadin Kesäapprot 2026
Harmittaako jo ajatus opiskelijarientojen tauolle jäämisestä kesän ajaksi? Ei hätää, Stadin kesäapprot kutsuu opiskelijat takaisin yhteen nauttimaan kesäisen Helsingin tunnelmasta ja kesäkuisen illan terassikierroksesta. Voit hetkeksi hengähtää, kaivaa haalarit taas esiin ja viettää porukalla riemukasta kesäiltaa. Meininki on taattu, kun approkierroksen jälkeen pääsemme jatkamaan fiilistelyä Maxinessa!
Stadin kesäappro järjestetään Helsingin keskustan alueella 10.6. Lähdöt tapahtuvat porrastetusti klo 16-19 välillä NoNamesta (Kalevankatu 6). Jatkoille Maxineen (Urho Kekkosen katu 1., 6 krs) pääsee klo 22.00. alkaen, jolloin myös haalarimerkkejä aletaan jakamaan. Palautathan täytetyn approkarttasi ennen puolta yötä, mikäli haluat haalarimerkin koristamaan lahjettasi.
Lippu tapahtumaan maksaa 12 €, ja se sisältää approkartan, haalarimerkin sekä viralliset jatkot Maxinessa. Lipunmyynti alkaa keskiviikkona 20.5. klo 12 Kideappissa.

| HAPPY SUMMER!THAT'S IT. Spring is here—this is my last weekly for this spring. Thank you all for an absolutely wonderful year so far <33 For me personally, the best part of this spring has been the incredible sense of community I’ve experienced at Athene and while being on the board. I hope you’ve had lots of wonderful moments too, and thank you to every single one of you reading this (even if you’re reading this for the first time today, hehe) for being a part of my spring. It’s absolutely unbelievable that half of this year is already behind us? But I’m truly the most grateful person in the world, and I plan to make this summer the best of my life. | Good news of the week: A new law in France facilitates the return of artifacts looted during the colonial era
Like many other countries, France looted various artifacts from the countries it colonized during the imperialist era. Many of these artifacts are still on display in Western museums today. In recent years, there has been an ongoing debate in Western countries about whether these artifacts should be returned to the countries from which they were stolen. Now, France has passed a new historic law that significantly facilitates this restitution. Among other European countries, the Netherlands also made it easier in 2021 to return stolen artifacts to their original owners. |

Is your elbow in shape? What about your throwing arm? AAVA’s Master’s Committee challenges you to enter the arena as Battle Chugging takes over Alvari Square on Sunday, May 31! This is no ordinary chugging – it’s a ruthless hybrid of beer chugging and the Hunger Games, where cans fly, reflexes decide everything, and the last one standing takes the glory. The rules are simple: first chug your beer, then throw your can at an opponent. If a flying can hits you, your journey ends there. Free-for-all – no alliances, no mercy. Eight rounds, two hours, one winner per game – do you have the accuracy, tactics, and grit to make it to the end? The organizers provide the equipment for all rounds, so you only need to bring your fighting spirit. For the thirstiest participants, we recommend bringing your own drinks for between rounds – there will be plenty to chug, but thirst may strike. WHAT? Stadin Summer Bar Crawl on June 6
Are you already feeling bummed about having to take a break from student events during the summer? Don’t worry—Stadin kesäapprot is calling students back together to enjoy the summer vibes of Helsinki. You can take a little break, get your overalls out again, and spend a lively summer evening with a group of friends. A great time is guaranteed when, after the bar crawl, we get to keep the party going at Maxine!
Stadin Kesäappro will take place in downtown Helsinki on June 10th. Participants will depart in phases between 16:00 and 19:00 from NoName (Kalevankatu 6). The afterparty at Maxine (Urho Kekkosen katu 1, 6th floor) starts at 22:00, when we’ll also begin handing out overalls badges. Please return your filled out appro map before midnight if you’d like an overalls badge.
The event ticket costs 12€ and includes an appro map, a right to enter the after-party and a badge according to your appro level. Tickets go on sale on 20 May at 12.00. When buying your ticket, you will select your departure time from NoName.
