Trakooma on maailman suurin tarttuva sokeuden aiheuttaja, ja sitä vastaan on taisteltu vuosikymmeniä. Taudin riskiryhmään kuuluvien ihmisten määrä on laskenut vuoden 2002 1,5 miljardista nykyiseen 97,1 miljoonaan, mikä on 94 prosentin lasku. Trachoma is the world's leading infectious cause of blindness and has been fought for decades. The number of people at risk of the disease has fallen from 1.5 billion in 2002 to 97.1 million today, a 94 percent decrease. At the meeting, new guild officials were officially appointed, the tasks for the early part of the year in various sectors were reviewed, and plans for the upcoming year were made.
