On Thursday 10.4., Jari Ylitalo, Senior University Lecturer, also known as the Oltermanni of the Athene Guild, will come to introduce himself at the Guild room 🌞 What does the Oltermanni do? What's happening at the Department of Industrial Engineering and Management right now? Who is Jari? All these questions will be answered at the Guild room on Thursday 10.4. 👀 As usual, buns and coffee will be served :)
Spring Study Survey
SCI's Spring Study Survey is open from 7.4.-17.4. and you can win an S-group gift card by answering! 🍂🍁✨ This spring's themes are feedback on studies, multilingual teaching, the role of the V-period and the renewal of the Bachelor Seminar. Now everyone has the opportunity to have their say on these important topics. 😎 The results will be presented to the staff at the SCI education management meeting. The survey is available in Finnish, Swedish and English. Two 20€ S-group gift cards will be drawn among the respondents from Athene-Guild! Take a few minutes to answer the survey here. Adobe Creative Cloud🎨
The much-asked-for Adobe Creative Cloud apps are now at last on Olkkari's Mac for the use of all guild members! The software can be used freely for all kinds of creative projects🌺
Wastage in Namubufferi
A problem from last year has arisen once again with the loss of items from Olkkari's snack buffer Namubufferi😔 Due to the wastage, the price margins of Namubufferi have to be raised. Additionally, if this problem continues, they will need to be raised further and the whole buffer might have to be taken away for a while.🫣 We would thus like to remind you all to ❗️pay for the products before taking them from the cabinet❗️to minimize forgetfulness. Namubufferi is a nice service for guild members, and we all would like to keep the margins as low as possible🌴 AALTONew hourly-paid teachers in mathematics and systems analysis for fall term 2025
Your tasks include teaching in exercise groups and grading exercises and exams.
Regarding teaching in mathematics, we expect the applicants to have completed at least 20 credits of mathematical studies at university level with good grades. Five credits may also be substituted with a math intensive course from another field of study.
Regarding teaching in systems analysis (courses MS-C/E2xxx), we expect the applicants to have completed the course they are interested in.
If you have previous experience in teaching, it is considered as an advantage, but is not necessary. This is a part-time job (2-4 hours/week). The salary is 30-40 euros/teaching hour based on your education level.
Grading exercises and exams will be (typically) compensated separately (300-400 euros depending on your education and the course level).

Do you want to have intercultural discussions around interesting themes? WPX is a unique workshop series connecting exchange and degree-seeking students to learn from each other, aiming at nothing less than building peace and understanding worldwide.
Core activities are small group discussions and content presented by experts around topics that the diverse community can discuss together.

NB Acting requires speaking fluent Finnish and it's considered an advantage for other onstage roles as well, but there's plenty of other stuff to do in a musical production too!

Kasperi invites Otaniemi's most skilled players once again to the Nail Game Tournament! Get ready for precise hammering and exciting competition heat as we determine who will be the 2025 Nail Game champion.
Participation costs 12 € per team, games are played in teams of two. Refreshments during the preliminary rounds are included in the price. After the competition, there's sauna and food. Sign up is open here until 15.4.

Beer flows, mölkky rolls!
The most traditional beer drinking and mölkky playing event in Otaniemi, more commonly known as mÖLkky, is here again! Are you in need of something to uplift your Wappu spirits? Are you in the mood for some light outdoors activities, or just looking for an excuse to have a cheeky Friday beer? Don’t stay in offside, secure a place for your team in the most legendary mölkky event in Otaniemi!
What is mÖLkky? The tournament is played with regular mölkky rules and some beer drinking related extra rules, but previous know-how isn’t required. Alcohol-free participation is also possible. The team size is 3-4 players, and the ticket includes overall patches, fine drinks for the first games, small snacks, and amazing side activities.
