ATHENENominate people for Athene's Acnkowledgements
Athene's traditional acknowledgements will soon be awarded. The guild has three types of recognitions: golden badges, epithets, and the Guild Official of the Year. The honors will be presented in November at the annual ball, Infoähky. The board of Athene will decide the recipients of these acknowledgements based on suggestions by guild members, so now is truly your chance to give thanks to people who deserve it!
Additionally, it’s worth taking a look at the list of previous recipients on the website, where you can see who has received a badge in past years and for what reasons. We encourage you to consider nominations based on both this year and previous years in the guild, as good deeds never expire. The most important thing when nominating recipients is the thought behind it, not elaborate wording. A few sentences of reflection and brief reasoning about the nominee are enough, but of course, you can write more if you wish. You can propose one or more people to receive an acknowledgment.
Please send your suggestions by email to hall...@athene.fi by Monday 30th of September 2024. You can also submit a joint proposal with other guild members. Please put "Guild acknowledgement proposals" in the subject line.
Athene's acknowledgements:
GOLDEN BADGE A golden badge can be awarded to a person who has worked particularly successfully for the guild or who has otherwise greatly helped the guild. 0-4 golden badges can be awarded every year.
EPITHET An epithet can be granted to a person who has worked successfully for the guild or has brought great joy to other members of the guild. Getting an epithet does not require a long guild career at Athene, but a proper and admirable attitude and a willingness to act for the friend. 0-8 epithets can be awarded every year.
OFFICIAL OF THE YEAR The Official of the Year title can be awarded to an official or officials (such as a committee) that have performed particularly well in their guild official role this year. The Official of the Year will receive their own plaque on the Official of the Year slab located in the guild room.
