Target: Children in rural Dalit and Adivasi Communities
Reward Trust is a volunteer-run, zero-overhead organization that works on creating a strong government school system in rural Tamil Nadu. This is accomplished by adding well-qualified, well-trained teachers to the government classrooms and providing continuous teacher training. Several of their teachers have received commendations from the government for their stellar teaching performances. Reward Trust serves close to 8000 students in 25 villages and emphasizes smaller class sizes and better trained teachers. Hundreds more students are graduating and continue on to pursue higher education

Decal Highlight
"In our Decal, we have been discussing issues around religious conflict, LGBTQ+ rights and health and sanitation. Students have pursued thought-provoking discussion through a variety of means on these important issues -- last lesson, we split the class into 3 and had them create individual presentations on public health, sanitation and education (respectively) in India. Something that has been especially rewarding is discussing issues about India that aren't commonly explored, namely through our LGBTQ+ lesson."

"What I love about Asha is that not only am I giving back to children in India, but Asha has been a family for me in college and a place where I made a lot of close friends. I think the work that we do is really awesome and impactful for the children in India and I hope Asha can be a family and a support system for so many new members to come."
